Returning from a two week journey through the midwest of the USA, Christoph Mueller is getting ready for the Dada Meets Country art show at the Künstlerhaus Mousonturm in Frankfurt, Germany. The exhibit will feature Mueller and fellow artist Nicolas Verduns of Metz, France. The opening is on February 24th, 8pm and you are kindly invited to join Mueller and Verduns that night!
Nicolas Drolc’s 45 minute documentary Can’t Take It With You When You Die!, about how Reverend Deadeye and Christoph Mueller joined forces one May in Aachen, Germany is now starting to be screened around the globe. Current screening dates are as follows:

It is rumoured Christoph Mueller will be attending the Paris screening and may even show up in St Paul in January. Naturally we will keep you up-dated in this matter.

When Mueller invited American musician Reverend Deadeye to stop by his home-town of Aachen during Deadeye’s last European tour in May a French film team took the opportunity and made a documentary about it. Through the juxatposition of interviews, live scenes, the artists at work and intimate jam sessions, the film aims to discover parallels between the two artists’ approach to their artwork and lifestyles. The 45 minute documentary will feature hand-lettered titles by Mueller and is expected to be available for screening in late september.

Mueller is also hard at work on the artwork for Psalms For The Spiritually Dead by his good friends the Sons Of Perdition. “This particulare project is especially important to me” Mueller states. “My attempt was to make it hard for whoever picks this record up, like a warning.” Zebulon (of Sons Of Perdition) adds: “It’s very affronting. It’s not pleasant to look at, but there’s definite beauty to it. It’s fucking dark.”
Amongst others the limited edition vinyl will feature musicians such as Lonesome Wyatt of Those Poor Bastards and Dad Horse Experinece from Germany. It will be available by the fine folks of Gravewax Records in the near future.
Austin native Michael Shane Borden has hired Mueller to take care of the artwork for his up-coming CD. “I really enjoy the opportunity to do the artwork for a genuine Honky Tonk/Americana artist” Mueller explains. “This is something I wanted to do for quite a while now.” Look for the CD on Crushproof Records soon!

Neben Mueller sind vier weitere internationale Künstler Teil des Projekts: Tinsel Edwards (GB), Jeremy May (USA), Agnieszka Ledochowska (PL) und Henry Woller (D). Die Ausstellung wird in Anwesenheit der Künstler am 26. Juni (Mueller’s Geburtstag) eröffnet und bis zum 18. Juli im Atelierhaus Knebelstraße 19 (ehem. Buchbinderei Martini) in Jena zu sehen sein (Donnerstag bis Freitag 14 bis 18.30 Uhr und Samstag 11 bis 17 Uhr).
Die fünf jungen Künstler aus vier verschiedenen Ländern haben sich zu einem experimentellen Workshop zum Thema „Kommunikation“ in Jena zusammengefunden. Mit der Fragestellung „Kann man mit Kunst kommunizieren?“ erarbeiten die Fünf unterschiedliche Kommunikationsstränge im „Stille-Post-Prinzip“. Jeder der Künstler stellt ein Thema, welches ausschließlich künstlerisch übermittelt wird. Ziel ist es, die Themenstellungen zu erfassen und sie künstlerisch zu „übersetzen“ - Ergebnis unbekannt.

Christoph Mueller will be part of the up-coming exhibition Rosetta Stone – Translation. Mutation. Art. which is held at the Jenaer Kunstverein in Jena, Germany. Mueller is joining international artists Tinsel Edwards (GB), Jeremy May (USA), Agnieszka Ledochowska (PL) and Henry Woller (D). The show will open on June 26th (Mueller’s birthday) and will be open for the public untill July 18th at the Atelierhaus Knebelstraße 19 in Jena.
The young artists from four different countries are gathering in Jena for an experimental workshop on the theme of “Communication”. The question being: Can art be used for communication? Each of them contributes a theme which is communicated by artistic means only. The goal is to capture the essence and translate it into another piece of artwork.
